The board is made up of compassionate and dedicated volunteers who form an essential part of the community driven initiatives at the Gathering Place . As a non-profit board, we believe true community strength lies in unity and support. From organizing events that foster connection, to providing food security through the support of food programs, our board is dedicated to nurturing an environment where every individual feels valued and supported. we intend to create a stronger community by supporting programs that support and empower individuals, including those that don't have a voice, the most vulnerable among us .
Our Mandates:
Supporting Enrichment Programs : We are committed to promoting and financially supporting enrichment programs that directly benefit our community. We collaborate closely with the center staff to ensure that programs are well designed , accessible and responsive to the evolving needs of the community.
Food Security: We actively support food programs run by the center.
We host community dinners and support many of the community events .
We work to establish partnerships with local food suppliers and seek grants to ensure nutritious meals are accessible to those in need .
Community Engagement: We are building strong relationships with local businesses , acting as liaisons to foster partnerships and goodwill.
Grant Application and Fund Raising: We are responsible for fundraising and applying for grants. We are also investing in creating avenues to establish funding and resources necessary for the centers sustainability and growth.
Strategic Planning: With ongoing assessment of the evolving needs of the center , we develop strategies to address those needs effectively. The board engages strategic planning to set long term goals and objectives for the center.
