Sandi, an artist and art educator with BA and BEd degrees from Edmonton, now resides in Vancouver. Embracing Gathering Place as a home, she passionately teaches art at the center. Her dedication to community service brings immense joy and fulfillment. Sandi values fostering connections within the community and believes in the positive impact of the board's mandates. She is committed to spreading the healing power of creativity far and wide.

Terry is passionate about the Gathering Place calling it “the most important building ” in the neighborhood. Being a longtime volunteer in the Gathering Place has been a way for her to help grow the neighborhood in a posiitve way. She is excited to see the growth / diversity of service programs offered to the community. The positive energy and goals of the Association fill her heart with happiness and she is honoured to be a part of such a great group of people. Her coined philosophy phrase is “Our success is your success” says it all.

Shiva , originally from Iran , has resided for over two decades in Canada . She has a diverse skill set including a BA degree and certificates in Property Management, Building Management, and Administrative Assistance. Recognized for service excellence by Vancouver Tourism, Shiva has actively participated in community initiatives, notably serving as a volunteer Administrative Assistant at Salvation Army and contributing to community policing with the North Vancouver Crime Prevention Centers. With a deep passion for community engagement, Shiva has actively participated in the Gathering Place programs, finding them to be a cornerstone for fostering connections and promoting positive impacts within the community. Energetic, proactive, and client service-oriented, Shiva is committed to leveraging their experiences to enhance the quality of life for all members of the community through the invaluable platform provided by the Gathering Place programs.

Martin has been a long time member of the Gathering Place. He has previously served on the board and hopes he will be of service to this board. His interests are in photography and painting.

Before immigrating I heard that Canada is a peaceful and friendly country that helps others and gives back. This belief has always been in my mind, therefore in my career I also remember to spend some time volunteering. I can play a role in council and the Gathering Place has given me this opportunity.

I have been retired for many years and found my childhood hobby again, water colour painting , at the Gathering Place . After many years of painting I have gained some experience and can share it with you.
